Anita,

i can understandthat you must have been absolutely wild at being treated like 
a child   yourself.

I have always understood (please correct me if I am wrong) that high 
frequency/sight words have two characteristics:

1)     These words are high frequency in children's vocabulary
2)     Up to maybe 2nd or 3rd grade these words can be learned visually, then 
the overload gets to be too much, and phonic decoding has to be taught.   

What do you say to this?   I'd be very interested.
