[AAACE-NLA] Spellings statement

I find Spellings statement disturbing and wonder as you do where the  
Federal Government is going with this.  Especially as the Even Start  
Funding has been cut - at a drop of 60% I've heard.  Does anyone know  
what her intent is?

I'm a member of the Clarke County School Board, Athens, Georgia, and  
we are reeling under the imposed state and federal requirements of No  
Child Left Behind, and I certainly hope that adult literacy won't be  
saddled with those constraints.
