No, not paranoid.
When I saw that Halliburton had been awarded contracts
again in a no-bid session, my hackles were raised.
The explanation is that time is of the essence and
they, along with other big companies, are ready and
able to to do the job immediately. But what of
controls of the costs? There appear to be none.
Incredible..... or if there are, I haven't read about
them. How can we be asked to trust them again after
the overcosts they perpetrated in IRAQ.??
Adult Education will have a difficult time as usual
if the need for it, as an antidote to poverty is not
emphasized loudly and clearly somehow, someway, it
will be ignored. The squeaky wheel gets the
attention. That is why I am curious as to where Dale
Lipshutz's press release was published.

Edith Hamilton:
It has always seemed strange to me that in our endless discussions about education so little stress is laid on the pleasure of becoming an educated person, the enormous interest it adds to life. To be able to be caught up into the world of thought -- that is to be educated.
