I'm interested to know if there is a generally accepted feeling on the list serv about illegal immigrants, meaning: provision of services, paying taxes, guest worker status, driving licenses, children's schooling, medical care, and any other issues I haven't thought about.  The topic is usually addressed in a cursory fashion here,and on other list servs, except for Andres who lives in El Paso--this is my memory at least.

There is a really sad story  on the front page of the Times (NYTIMES) this morning about Mexican immigrants and one immigrant family in particular.
