US Department of  Education
Secretary Spellings also announced the appointments of Emily  Kertz Lampkin 
and Robin Gilchrist as deputy chiefs of staff.

Robin Gilchrist has served as a liaison to education associations at the  
Department for the past year. Prior to this, she was the director of the Texas  
Family Literacy Center and also served as assistant commissioner of education  
under then-Gov. George W. Bush. A Texas native, Gilchrist earned a bachelor's  
degree in economics and English from St. Edwards University and a master's  
degree in public affairs from the University of Texas. Gilchrist and her 
husband  live in Washington, D.C., and Denver.
