 I had a chance to read Ted Sizer's new book, "The Red Pencil" over winter 
break.  It was most therapeutic to discover that I'm not crazy, the 
"system" is.  He does say the standards people did a good thing by talking 
about problems, but, all that talk should be viewed as a discussion 
starter, not ender!  Oh, yes,...and talk is just that..we need action, a 
lot of it!
