Hello all, I'm brand new to the list and find Tom's summary enlightening and
most helpful. I have one more question.

Similar to what has been done in the secondary level a national sample of
students who were 13 to 16 years of age in 2000 as they move from secondary
school into adult roles--National Longitudinal Transition Study-2
(NLTS2)?_http://www.nlts2.org/gindex.html_ (http://www.nlts2.org/gindex.html)

Has there been a baseline/follow-up study to mark change/improvement, and
sustained improvement, --leading to specific outcomes as a result of being
able to read?

Forgive my naivete in this field. I'm very new.

those who look at it without doing anything." - Albert Einstein
