Of course Tom Sticht is absolutely right. The discouraging thing is, when
this insight is aimed at the administration (and I think it is the
administration, not the whole federal government) it falls on deaf ears.
Their minds are made up, and their respect for the educational community is
so nil they actually think educators will believe these pseudo-attempts to
appear to be acting in the interest of scientific truth and for the
benefit of learners. They know it is all eye-wash. They think we don't
know that. I'm fed up, and putting my energies into voting the guys OUT
and connecting with politicians who are already on the side of educational
opportunity for all.
