[AAACE-NLA] New Book On NCLB

 Thank you for the review of this book.  I agree that we are in very serious
trouble with funding for education, whether it is for children or adults. 
We really need to think about this situation, which is more damaging to our
society:   to have a nation of low level literacy adults  or to have a
nation of low level child readers?

Do these not go hand-in-hand?  Low adult levels of literacy hold back
children as well as themselves.  In our county we have all the tools to help
adults except for the funding, we are really wearing down with all the
numbers we have to fulfill and not a raise for salary for 3 years for me!  I
work full-time as a family literacy coordinator/adult education instructor
and as of July 1, my program has to serve 59 families and our ABE program
has to have over 1300 enrolled.  We are a small population only about 30,000


I worry about the quality I can deliver.  I need an assistant.  What can we
do about all this?
