Thanks Debbie,

Conflicting Paradigms in Adult Literacy Education: In Quest of a US
Democratic Politics of Literacy is scheduled to be released at the end
of October. Much more information will be made available as the time
nears. For now, here's the initial information from amazon.com at
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0805846247/ref=lpr_g_1/102
-1320578-5320909?v=glance&s=books

I'm aware of the typo on U.s. Hopefully that will be resolved soon.

George

George, I want to thank you for your summary. While, as usual, your
prose is dense, it is precise, and I am taking the liberty of passing it
on to my Board members. I think there needs to be more widespread
understanding of our work in the context of societal/historical forces,
and you have captured much in a pithy few paragraphs. As a note on this
listserv medium of communication: I would also observe that while I
wondered for a while if the Andres/Andrea dialog along these lines was
of real relevance to a list on Advocacy, I think that finally the
discussion has moved around to how all this affects the message we are
trying to "get out there". Does anyone know if anyone (in addition to
George) is working on some kind of a history of adult ed with an
emphasis on placing that history into this broader context? George,
how is your book coming along, anyway?
