Thanks for your views.

Utopia = "nowhere," which is where a lot of "post-industrial" thinking went.  
 

We will never be "post-industrial," so I have to toss that out as also 
conceptually incoherent.   Couldn't live without those machines.

If   we create a vision, it has to be based on the realities of what adult 
literacy can actually do, accomplish.   Got to be grounded, or we are 
"no-where."   When a vision is grounded, then there is a basis for making choice--"this 
works better than that."
