[AAACE-NLA] presidential candidates

The Chronicle of Higher Education's online edition yesterday featured a Q&A 
with the democratic candidates on their positions on higher education. Dean 
and Lieberman were the only ones who addressed the need for basic skills 
among adults, albeit in the context of adequate preparation for college.

I am an Iowa resident and am committed to the education of all children and 
adults.  It has taken time for me to sort through all the Democratic 
candidates' policy statements (and hype).  John Kerry has taken a strong 
stand on education for children in special education and for the employment 
of adults with disabilities.  I believe he would listen to our concerns 
about the education needs of adults with special learning needs.  Visit his
