Basic Education and Literacy Practitioners and Professional
Developers:The Executive Committee of the Association of Adult Literacy
Professional Developers (a network of people interested in professional
development for adult basic education teachers) strongly urges you to
join us in taking action now to preserve NIFL's focus on adults and
families during WIA Title II reauthorization.  NIFL has produced
multiple and valuable resources for teachers (Equipped for the Future,
LINCS, NIFL Discussion Lists, Bridges to Practice), and we as
professional developers use these resources to fulfill our role as the
main force in our field behind teacher preparation.  We need to act
together in keeping those resources vital and accessible to the adult
basic education and literacy teachers we serve.We strongly encourage you
to go to the Save NIFL Campaign website at http://www.savenifl.org/Using
the information at that site, contact your legislators now.  Then, email
the campaign organizers at savenifl at yahoo.com and inform them of:1.
The action you took;2.      Any comments/questions the legislators may
have.Your name will then be listed on the website in the Advocacy Hall
of Honor (although you may, of course, remain anonymous).  However, the
