This message was submitted by cheryl.keenan at ed.gov to listaestatedirectors at inet.ed.govPlease be aware that, with in the past weeks,  DAEL has received variouslinks and web postings from organizations that are supported with federalfunds, and that are related to legislative activities--activities that maybe interpreted as urging people to advocate for various legislativeproposals related to reauthorization and appropriations.As you know, it is unallowable to conduct these activities on sites that aresupported with federal funds, or in programs that are federally funded.Please check your web pages and the pages of those that you support withfederal money to be sure that legislative activities are not being conductedwith federal funds.  I really appreciate your efforts to keep those activities clearly separateto avoid problems that will result from using adult education federal fundsfor legislative activities.Cheryl Keenan
