[AAACE-NLA] candidates on ABE

I live in Iowa and I have been bombarded with phone calls for the last 4 to
5 months about who I support in the presidential caucuses. The people that
are calling are probably paid workers for the various campaigns. I have had
a call from someone for every Democratic candidate that is running in the
Iowa caucuses. They usually ask about any concerns that I have or if I have
any questions. I always ask about their candidate's position on adult
education or adult literacy. I don't think any of them have heard of Adult
Basic Education (ABE). They all say they don't know, but they will get back
to me. None of them has gotten back to me as yet. I have gone to hear some
of the candidates speak at different functions and tried to ask a question
from the floor about ABE and have never been successful in getting
recognized to ask a question. This is something we should really know
about: How do the candidates look at ABE or do they even understand
anything about it.
