[AAACE-NLA] Comparing the House and Senate WIA

Deb and others,
As I understand the campaign, we are instructed to ask our reps to
endorse the Senate over the House Bill. I can only conclude that those
who initiated this campaign view the Senate version as more amenable to
saving the adult focus of NIFL. That has to be based on something. I
don't know that anyone's asking for a 10 page synopsis. What is needed
are some very clear comparisons, perhaps no more than 4-5 points showing
the differences between the two versions. If the differences aren't
evident and easily communicable, then why are the initiators of this
campaign telling us to stress the Senate version? Common sense would
seem to dictate that there was a rationale in making that decision and
some of us at least, need to know what that operative logic is?
Otherwise, how do we know what we're being asked to do is sound?
Moreover, how can we intelligently explain this to our reps?
Perhaps the issue really isn't the Senate vs House version, but something
else? If that's what's underlying the difficulty people are having in
making the comparison, fine, but we need to know what the actual issues
are before we can reasonably defend something.
