[AAACE-NLA] LINCS and Discussion List Talking Points

Friends and Colleagues:
Many of us are concerned about the danger to the NIFL
Discussion Forums ("listservs"), as well as their home
in LINCS (Literacy Information aNd Communications
System). The lists are in danger of being lost
entirely, or undergoing a drastic change in focus.

Please visit our newest update to the Save NIFL
website:

http://savenifl.org/lincs.html

Note that while the NIFL Discussion Forum talking
points do include language about opportunities for
free and open discussion, they do *not* include the
specific details of the current free speech issues.
This is intentional.  As that situation evolves, we
will adapt the suggested talking points to reflect
current events should it ever become necessary to
collectively address them.  But right now, we must
act together to preserve NIFL's focus on adults and
families, or we won't have free speech and
intellectual freedom issues to defend.

Someone on this list a month or so ago stated that our
constituents on the 'other side' expected an anemic
response from the field.  It's now time to prove them
wrong.

I hope to see dozens if not hundreds of NIFL list
subscribers' names listed in the Advocacy Hall of
Honor in the immediate future.  There is much at
stake.

Best,
Jackie
