[AAACE-NLA] What about NIFL?!

The NIFL listservs are vital to the field.  For me personally, they have provided friendship, information, and lively exchanges.   It is my impression that they have created an email adult literacy community.  I have also met, at conferences, some of the list serv members. There is no way I could learn about the field, its organization, students, membership, issues, without the listservs.   The listservs are like one large wonderfully informative faculty meeting.  I have gotten to know people off-line, talked to them on the phone, met them, exchanged views, expanded my knowledge and understanding.
The above sounds like an advertisement for uplift--but that is also what the listservs provide, moral support and human connection.
