[AAACE-NLA] A reminder

George and others, it is true that I have been more of a lurker than an
active participant. But as your moderator I believe that my role is
more conduit than instigator. I am not silent from fear of reprisal,
but from the desire to watch and wait for an opportunity to add
something valuable from my own experience.
However, I do welcome the invitation to stimulate discussion. The list
has been slow of late. We have lounged through the vacation rich days
of August. Ahead of us are the politically charged days of September --
days when Congress debates the validity of adult education and decides
whether to reward our field with a small portion of what it takes to
carry on our work.
In the weeks and months ahead I pledge to continue my work as conduit,
to encourage all of you who actively contribute, and to search for
constructive ideas that aid our work as advocates for adult education.

And that silence continues. And not a word from the moderators even on
this list where they are free to speak without penalty? or is it the
internal censor that is at work?
Inquiring minds truly do want to know.
