[AAACE-NLA]Are we focusing on the right thing?

We've all spent a good deal of time talking about the blocking of certain
messages on NIFL listservs and whether or not it its censorship or the
nit-picking application of law prohibiting the use of federal funds for
lobbying. It occurred to me (thanks to a friend's insight) that we may be
focusing on the wrong thing right now. Shouldn't our discussion right now be
more focused on the harmful parts of H.R. 1261 and what we want to urge the
Senate education committee to do differently? Isn't the result of that
effort what we're going to have to live with for the next 5 years? Someone
-- we think we know who -- threw us a curve. With the help of some folks
that aren't funded by the government we're in the process of adjusting.
Let's keep our eye on the prize though.
