[AAACE-NLA]Clarification about this list

AAACE-NLA Colleagues,

I would like to correct a misunderstanding in Catherine King's May 15th 
message below.

This list -- the AAACE-NLA list -- as far as I am aware, is not a 
government-supported list.  It is sponsored by the American Association 
of Adult and Continuing Education, a private, professional organization 
of adult educators.  It is not a Natinal Institute for Literacy (NIFL) 
list, and is not archived on NIFL. It is hosted -- and archived -- on 
the Literacy Tent, also not a government-sponsored organization. And 
messages on the archives of this list have not been removed.

Also, let me take this opportunity to clarify that the previous NLA 
list, which I moderated for ten years, was not sponsored by NIFL, and 
did not receive any support from NIFL.  As a courtesy to subscribers and 
the adult literacy education field, the archives were housed on NIFL. 
Recently the archives were closed, for reasons that have already been 
made clear on this list, then -- at my request, moved -- unexpurgated -- 
from the NIFL LINCS Website to the Literacy Tent.
